     I was finally getting used to the idea of meeting Lad's girlie friend, when she showed up – hours earlier than expected.

     The voice of the grown man whined at me as I refused to stir from my sleep. In truth, I was refusing to answer the call at my door just to spite the offender who had woken me from my peaceful slumber.
